How Does Sunrocket Broadband Phone Service Work?

Sunrocket VoIP phone service uses Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) to transmit the signal from one point to the next. This is accomplished by used of a special router at your end and a broadband Internet connection such as DSL or Cable.

When you talk into your phone, the signal is sent to your Sunrocket adapter and is converted into packets that can be sent over an Internet connection. Then it follows the IP for packet transmissions and sends the packets by whatever route is available to the end destination. Then the packets are reassembled into the proper order so message is understandable.

The whole process is 100% digital and therefore provides crystal clear sound quality to the receiver at both ends of the conversation. The only thing that can affect the quality of the signal is the availability of bandwidth. If you have a lot of computers on a single connection, your available bandwidth for the phone will be lowered. Also, if you are using an all wireless system (wireless modem, wireless router, wireless card) you may also have some signal drop off.

Sunrocket phone service is available for residential customers only at this point. They currently do not offer specific packages geared toward the business customer. But their residential packages would also work for any business customer as well. They offer many great features for their customers that are comparable to what you would be able to get from your regular phone company.

Sunrocket phone service uses VoIP technology to make available affordable phone service to any location in the world. They charge a flat rate for calls to any state, Canada and Puerto Rico, plus they also offer deeply discounted rates to 12 other countries. VoIP is the way of the future for phone service and Sunrocket phone service is taking you there.

You can check on Sunrocket's website to see if they are available in your area. This is because they enter into agreements with the broadband providers in your area to insure that they have good connections and use of their lines. You can enter in your area code and the first three digits of your phone number and you will know if you can get service and keep your existing phone number. The process of connecting their service is also very easy. You connect on LAN cable to their router and then you connect the phone cord to the router and finally you connect the power cord and your done.
