If you’re a telecom agent selling phone services online, you can probably remember back to the 90’s when phone companies first started building agents websites to sell their services for them. Back then, we had to do some yelling and kicking, but eventually we got the telecom companies to pull their phone numbers off of our affiliate sites, and thereby decreased one of the biggest sales “Leaks” in affiliate marketing.
Well, guess what, it looks like we are going to have to start doing that all over again. Almost every telecom company that has an affiliate program on Commission Junction, has their phone number on the landing pages that the affiliate links go to. You would think that since CJ.com gets paid on a percentage basis, based on sales that their affiliate’s make, that they would come down on these “Leakers”, and make them remove the phone numbers from the sites that the CJ.com affiliate links go to.
Here’s a partial list of telecom companies, with affiliate programs on CJ.com and Shareasale.com, that have their phone numbers on the landing page:
Here’s a few companies that don’t have their phone numbers on their affiliate landing page:
There are a whole bunch more, but since this list is starting to look like a spammy affiliate link-farm, I’m going to go ahead and stop now…. Maybe I’ll list some more later.
